The Eternity Cure - Review

The Eternity Cure ( The Blood of Eden #2)
by Julie Kagawa
Blurb
Allison Sekemoto has vowed to rescue her creator, Kanin, who is being held hostage and tortured by the psychotic vampire Sarren. The call of blood leads her back to the beginning—New Covington and the Fringe, and a vampire prince who wants her dead yet may become her wary ally.

Even as Allie faces shocking revelations and heartbreak like she’s never known, a new strain of the Red Lung virus that decimated humanity is rising to threaten human and vampire alike.

My Review
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for an honest review. Allie has left Zeke in Eden and is now hunting for her vampire sire Kanin. She can feel he needs her and she is tracking him through the blood bond. When they bond splits in two directions the path she choices leads to Jackal her blood brother. Even though they both wish to kill each other they team up to find Kanin. Their path leads them back to New Covington and the Fringe where it all started for Allie. Once there they see a new strain of the Red Lung virus has emerged and it threatens not only the humans but vampires as well. Allie is faced with people from her past some that want to help her and some that wish her dead. She will have to make many hard decisions and the future may be in her hands.

Allie is awesome as always. She has got tougher as she looks for Kanin but she does know her heart is back in Eden with Zeke. She does everything she can in this book to help her friends and everyone to survive. Several times she is face with betrayal in this book and she pushes through that to do what has to be done. You get to see just how loyal she can be and how much pain she can take. I love how much she grows in this book. Jackal I never liked and in this book I have mixed feelings about him. I don't trust him much. In this book Kanin is weaker but he has been tortured and endured countless other things. I really like Kanin and liked getting to know why he did some of the things he did. Zeke has my heart in this book. He goes beyond what anyone could ask for from him. He doesn't back down from anything and shows how much he cares for Allie.

So,so hard to write without spoilers. I loved the first book and I love this one as well. I love the whole world the author has create in these books. In this book we get to see a little more about things that happened in the past. I love how they are added in. The characters each grow in this book as more is known about some of them. My feelings for several characters changed quite a bit after I finished this book. There is plenty of action as Allie has to fight all kinds of people and vampires. It seems everyone who comes across her has a grudge for some reason. Betrayal is a big point in this book as you really never know who to trust and who is going to stab you in the back. It will for sure keep you turning the pages as you just have to see what will happen next. The ending in a way I saw coming but it only makes me want the next one more. Love dystopian books, YA vampire books or just a great read pick this series up.
4 out of 5 Bats~Pam
