The Untold Want by Ronnell D. Porter

The Untold Want by Ronnell  D. Porter
My name is Catianna, and I'm a painter. I live in a world of people tending scars left over from a war that took place long before I was born. We follow God's laws as set forth by the bible, and anyone who breaks any of these rules will face the Gatekeepers; thou shall not steal, thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife, woman shall not dress as man nor man as woman or they will be an abomination before the Lord, woman may not speak in church for it is disgraceful, and so on. But recent events in my life have set questions burning within my own heart like a wildfire. If you had to choose between doing what the bible said was right, or what your heart said was just, which would you choose? Here are my choices. This is my story. Listen, because this will be my only chance.

 MY REVIEW:
Wow, let me just start off by saying wow…. This book is intense right from the beginning, though this isn’t your typical paranormal read, this book had me from the first few pages, the intensity of the beginning had me interested to read on, a lot of the events in this book made me think a lot about how the world that Cat (Cattianna) lived in where there are so many rules, and a lot punishable in severe manners versus our lives and how free expression and our individualities and personalities are welcomed and we do not have to fear any repercussion’s, are worth a lot more than some people now a days realize.

This book had a strong message, and had captured me right away, I could feel for Cattianna, as I could sense her struggles and the obstacle in her path, I felt sorry for her and her Father’s relationship, I grew to hate him as I continued through the book, once you pick this book up you will see exactly why, but I think what had me amazed was the obstacle that would change everything for Cat, forever.

I have to say Ronnell had me loving Cat & Daryl characters, But let me tell you about Patricia though at first you will hate her you will soon learn there more to her than meets the eye, towards the end of the book I was really surprised to see such a different side to her, but honestly I guess the way she acted could only be expected especially because who her father was, One of the Gatekeepers, but even he will leave you with a surprise at the end that will have you wide-eyed.

I give this book 4.5 out of 5 bats and cant wait for other’s to get their hands on this book!

Pretty When She Dies Review

Pretty When She Dies by Rhiannon Frater

Goodreads Blurb
Amaliya wakes under the forest floor, disoriented, famished and confused. She digs out of the shallow grave and realizes she is hungry...

... in a new, horrific, unimaginable way...

Sating her great hunger, she discovers that she is now a vampire, the bloodthirsty creature of legend. She has no choice but to flee from her old life and travels across Texas. Her new hunger spurs her to leave a wake of death and blood behind her as she struggles with her new nature.

All the while, her creator is watching. He is ancient, he is powerful, and what's worse is that he's a necromancer. He has the power to force the dead to do his bidding. Amaliya realizes she is but a pawn in a twisted game, and her only hope for survival is to seek out one of her own kind.

But if Amaliya finds another vampire, will it mean her salvation... or her death?

My  Review

I received this book from the author for an honest review. Amaliya wakes up in the ground and fights her way to the surface. She is disoriented and heads back to her dorm. There she takes a shower and tries to remember for sure who she is and what is going on. As her memory starts to slowly return she throws some clothes on, grabs what money she has and leaves. She finds herself at an hidden party and realizes what she is she is a vampire. The man who made her one and killed her shows up and makes sure no one escapes her as she feeds. Soon after that he tells her she is on her own and he doesn't offer to tell her anything about her vampire abilities or what not to do. Now she is on the move trying to figure things out for herself, hide from the law, all along not knowing she is being chased by an evil person.

Amaliya is a phenomenal character. She is tough, likes to be different from those around ( good thing huh her being a vampire now), but above all else she wants to live well as much as she can live. Cian is the vampire she comes across when hunting for someone to help her control herself and what to expect. Up to this point she has just tried to do her best. Cian brings her home with him to the distress of his human fiance Samantha and his servant Roberto. Samantha is a someone who see Cian as Edward from Twilight. She doesn't get that vampires aren't nice and sparkly. Cian learns from Amaliya who turned her into a vampire and tells her that her maker is actually The Summoner. The same vampire who made him and is one of the most evil vampires there is. She is also told he has special powers and that he plays games with new vampires turning them and then tossing them out to see how long they will make it before he kills them. Amaliya isn't your typical vampire either. Also we have Amaliya's grandmother. I love this grandmother she is such a tough old woman you can not help but to love her. She doesn't care what she says as long as she gets her way. Her way usually being trying to help her granddaughter.

I really loved this book. The feel of it is very dark and sucks you right into it. The vampires in this book are amazing they fight, love, and try to live their own lives in their own territories. The plot is great and I love the writing style of Rhiannon Frater. She really knows how to keep you on the edge of your toes. This isn't no light weight vampire book if that is what you are looking for this is a harder grown up version. The fight scenes are very intense and bloody. The love scenes are intense and bloody as lol. I found myself feeling sorry for Amaliya a lot of times even when she was killing people you could tell she didn't want to. You get to see what kind of life she had growing up and think how did she turn out as good as she is. Think Jerry Springer and you have how her life used to be. It has some witty remarks you can't help but laugh at at times. Every time Samantha comes into a scene I just get ready cause I know it will be good. I know I am rambling but if I could I would put this book in peoples hands and tell them to read this book. The whole time they were reading i would also be going have you got to such and such part. Yeah it's the kind of book you want to blurt out things cause you can't wait for people to read it. So if you want a grown up vampire book or just looking for a change grab this so I can bug you to see if you have got to a certain part.

ARC Review of Betrayal by Gregg Olsen

Betrayal by Gregg Olsen

Goodreads blurb
In this action-packed thriller sequel to Envy, foreign exchange student Olivia Grant is stabbed to death after a party--and the prime suspect is her best friend. As twins Hayley and Taylor Ryan get pulled into the aftermath of this Amanda Knox-like crime, they realize nothing is what it seems. Could it be betrayal of the ultimate kind?
Betrayal features real-life crime-solving techniques, heart-stopping suspense, plenty of red herrings, hard-hitting ethical questions, and information about the Amanda Knox case that inspired the novel. As the crime unravels, so does the twins' past…and they must face off against a family member who may unexpectedly have carried out the worst betrayal of all.

My Review
I received an ARC of this book from the publisher for an honest review. I loved the first book in this series and couldn't wait to read the next one. From the moment you start reading this book the action starts. Olivia an exchange student is murdered at a Halloween party. The police begin to investigate this murder and have several people they believe did it including her best friend Bree, the girl she lives with Beth and a few more. The best friend doesn't help matters when she does yoga at the police station while being questioned, make out with her boyfriend the next day plus lots more. The twins Taylor and Hayley they get that feeling that someone has died that night. The same feeling they have had before. They start to get those signs that they receive pointing them in the direction of the killer through visions and signs. In the midst of all that the twins also get text from creepy text guy that makes them look deeper into their own past at what secrets may be there.

I love the twins and all they get into following their feelings and the signs they receive. You really get a better look at what them different from each other and you also get to see more of that special bond they have. Beth is a good character as well you get to see her break down her tough girl exterior at one point and get a good look at who she is under that. Bree is a rich, snobby spoiled, liar and I didn't like this girl at all. She reminded me of mean girls in school who would rip your to shreds all the while laugh about. She doesn't care what is going on she just cares about herself. The other characters you get to read about in this book each have their own impact on the plot.

I really liked how the action starts right away and doesn't let up the whole book. You never know what is going to happen or who the killer is. You can guess you know but trust me you don't. The twins finding out more about their past is like a side store you just know is leading up to a bigger story hopefully coming soon. All the twitter reference and other things the author adds makes a nice touch I think and will help draw in new readers to a great series. I can't say what part because of a spoiler but one had me almost ready to cry. It is such an emotional scene and Gregg Olsen did a great job writing it. When the killer is revealed I was shocked who it was and why they did it. I look forward to the next book in this series as I need to know more where Hay-Tay get their spidey sense I guess you could say. If you want a young adult murder mystery with some great characters pick this one up.

REVIEW:
This book keeps you locked into the pages, as love, a bit of humor, well to me at least because of certain parts that made me giggle ^_^ and of course danger mixed with suspense. It will all keep you reading until it all leads up to a finale. The ending though so sweet, left me wondering though most stories you can tell if there will be a possibility that the story can continue as a series right away, I was left a bit baffled because I couldn’t really tell if there would be a sequel or not, but I guess that is just the Author’s way of torturing us, leaving us to our imaginations. ;) I look forward to hearing about a sequel, or any other works that this author will come out with. I gave this book 4 out of 5 bats.

My Review:
If it wasn’t for Tiffany I don’t think I would have read these books. But I am so glad I did. I love each book a little bit better than the last one and Tiger’s Destiny is no different.

So this book picks up where Voyage left off. Kelsey is separated from her tigers and all three of them have to find a way to get her back and away from Lokesh. Which sets off on a heart breaking, wonderful, intense, and emotional ride. That had me closing my book at times so I wouldn’t throw it across the room or because I was too emotional to keep reading. Colleen really knows how to pull the reader in and crush them all at the same time. Which I love but it also drives me crazy.

The cliff hanger we are left with is heart breaking. I can’t even imagine how Kelsey will deal with the outcome. But I have to wait until September 4 to know since we are left with the last two chapters not included. So I am sitting on pins and needles waiting for that day to come.

I love this book. Each one gets better and better. I think this one might actually be my favorite of the series so far. 5/5 Bats

I wanna say Thank you to Jean Vallesteros for putting this blog tour together and for letting me be part of it. Also I wanna say Thank you to Sterling Books and Colleen Houck for allowing me to read this amazing ARC book.

Solstice Review

Solstice: A Novel of the Zombie Apocalypse by
Donna Burgess

Goodreads Blurb
On the eve of winter Solstice, a massive flash envelopes the Earth and then there is nothing. The sun no longer shines and civilization is plunged into unending darkness. Those exposed to the mysterious flash have changed—they have become bloodthirsty, cunning, and determined to devour anyone who is not infected. They are Ragers.

In Sweden, a group of uneasy travelers hears a broken broadcast. There is hope. Something called Sanctuary waits, but it is thousands of miles away, somewhere on the shores of the British Isles.

Meanwhile, in a London supermarket, a high school English teacher from the States finds himself stranded along with a handful of students on a senior trip. Outside, hoards of hungry Ragers await, ready to tear them limb from limb. Their only hope is to find Sanctuary.

Solstice is a tale of hope, terror, survival, and finding love at the end of the World.

My Short Review
Solstice is a very thrilling story about Zombies or as they are called in this book Rangers.  I loved this book mainly because no one is safe in it. You might get attached to a character and they end up gone later on. I love that because you never know what is going to happen and the book keeps you on your toes and will break your heart at times. Want a great new book about the world ending and zombies pick this up.

Zombie Kid Diaries Vol 1 Playing Dead Review

Zombie Kid Diaries Vol 1 Playing Dead by Fred Perry

Goodreads Blurb
Middle school is horrific enough for any 5th grader's first day. But for Bill Dookes, it's a festering, rotting, undead nightmare! Since Bill's deadbeat dad got arrested trying to burn the house down for the insurance, Mom's had to make ends meet by volunteering to various medical research companies for cash. This would be fine if she hadn't brought home a mysterious zombie virus! Now Bill has to deal with skin problems and body chemistry changes that make puberty look like a walk in the park! And then there's his ever-growing appetite for BRAINS!

My Review

I received this book from NetGalley for an honest review. This is Zombie Kid Diaries instead of Diary of a Whimpy Kid. It is all about Bill who gets turned into a zombie along with his mom. Imagine starting middle school trying to hide the fact that you are a zombie. Bill loves to play video games and has Diary to keep track of his score and also uses it to keep track of what he has to eat after he is turned into a zombie. He along with two friends enter a tournament where he finds being a zombie helps him get better scores and also where he ends up with a major problem. I won't give it away but kids are sure to find it hilarious.

This would be perfect for any kid who loves the Diary of a Whimpy kid books, has a wicked sense of humor or who just wants to get into reading a slight paranormal book. Bill may be a zombie but he isn't the brain eating crazy type so don't fear it will bother your kids in that way. I'm an adult and I still enjoyed it. It is very funny in that way most kids like. Think fart jokes and things like that and you get the type of humor I am talking about. Bill and his mom are both very funny. She does some crazy things. If you have a kid who doesn't like to read you may just try them on this series. It may get them into reading.

The Guardians of Eternity are embroiled in an epic battle for survival. They are as dangerous as they are sensual—and their lustful appetites are legendary...

Her Visions Lead Her To Danger

Cassie is both charmed and frightened by Caine's magnetism, and unsure if he—or her feelings for him—can be trusted. But Cassie can't afford to doubt Cain now. A deadly enemy bent on destruction is closer than they realize—and only they can keep chaos from ruling the world.

My Review
I recieved an ARC copy of this book from Kensington for an honest review. This is Cassandra or Cassie as she is called story. She is the last of the Were Quadruplets. She is on the run with Caine who started out in this series has a bad guy but has slowly become a good one and the protector of Cassie. Cassie is a prophet and has been locked away all her life. Caine tries to keep her safe and teach her about life all the while trying to keep his hands to his self. Cassie has a few different plans in mind with the last part. They are on the run from Dark Lord but might have to face him and Cassie may have to face people from her past she has no desire to.

If you haven't read the rest of this series I urge you to do so before reading this book. A lot of the characters you meet and a lot of the plot focus on the past books in this series. Plus this is an amazing series that I love. Cassie and Caine's story is a great one. I love the chemistry between the two and how Caine tries to control himself around Cassie even if she in her confusing tortures him with questions and touches. They have a great spark between them you can see. Caine will do anything to keep her safe and Cassie feels the same about Caine as we see later in the book. All the other characters you get to read about in this book each add their own unique touch to this story. You get to see a several battle scenes and one great big one. There is love, betrayal, action, a whole slew of paranormal creatures and a whole lot more you get to read about in this book. If you are looking for a new paranormal series to read try this one. The characters are great and the plot of each book keeps you hooked wanting more. I really enjoyed Cassie and Caine's story you really get to see how far Caine has come and you get to see Cassie grow into her self and become stronger all around.
