My Review

Raine's father disappeared and her mom acts strange all the time. That should be enough for one teen to handle but Raine gets thrown another curve in her life in the form of Torin. He moved in next door to her and she is drawn to him. When she gets injured her life gets changed when Torin heals her with some marks. Now she is out to figure out what he is and some of the other students. All the while fighting her feelings for Torin and trying to figure out what her best friend Eirik means to her. The more she digs up on Torin she discovers he has ties to Norse mythology. She also discovers she has ties to it as well. She will have to pick a side soon as she finds her self and her friends are in danger. She has to hope she picks the right side.

The characters are all fantastic. Raine keeps you guessing what she will do next and she shows great strength in all she has to face. Eirick is her best friend and knows her so well. Torin OMG how do you describe Torin. He has the whole sexy stranger with secrets thing going on. Every time he isn't in a scene you can't help but think were is he at lol. Besides these three there is several other characters to get to know. Some of them you will love to hate and some you will love.

When I started this book I did not want to put it down. Every page you read you get a little more insight into the world the author has created. You really get to see what the characters are like and get to know them. The story line is a refreshing one and different from other books. This has a lot of Norse Mythology in it and that was new to me. I love these kind of books. Yes it does have a love triangle thing but know worries when you read this book you see why it isn't a bad thing. It helps make the characters who they are. There is several scenes for those that like action. Raine is facing danger after all and she has to figure out who to trust. I would recommend this to anyone who wants something different to read or loves mythology. I can't wait for the next one. 

The cover is wonderful. I love that you get to see the characters and the marks.

My Review

In a world that has changed, The Registry is what keep the world going. Boys have to learn to be soldiers and girls since there is so few of them are ranked and sold to the highest bidders for marriage. It is the way things are and Mia Morrissey is so excited to see what she rates and who she will be sold to. It is what she has lived her whole life for. Her older sister arrives home and tells her of the horror that await her causing Mia to rethink what she wants. She is sold to a very powerful man and decides she will run away with the help of her friend Whitney. The girls trick Andrew into taking them on the run. They want to get to Mexico were they hear thongs will be different for them. They have to out run Mia's husband to be and all the bounty hunters he hired to go after her. They are all in danger and don't know what to expect even if they make it to Mexico.

I really couldn't get into liking Mia much. She seems like what she is a lot of the time a spoiled girl used to getting her own way no matter what happens to those around her. She is beautiful and of course everyone wants her. She doesn't see what is right in front of her a lot of time because of her own selfish reasons. Whitney is actual the one I connected with more. She is a poor girl but isn't blind to what is going on around her. Andrew at first may seem rude but he has a goal in his life and Mia messes up everything he had planned to do. He wanted a normal life or what is called normal in these times. He saves the girls numerous times and is one who tries his best to hide his feelings. He is strong and smart.

I love dystopian books and this one just kinda fell in the middle for me. I liked the idea of the story and it is very well written. The author does a wonderful job in the place setting and with the action scenes. You really get into those. There is the evil guy to hate Grant but I also didn't care for Mia's dad and mom they are only after their own gain. I think I would have liked the story better if Mia had been different but it is just the way she is brought up. All the characters are really well written it's just I didn't feel that connection to her. It is still a good book despite me not liking Mia. It has twist and turns and you never really know what to expect.

My Review

Cash should have died in a fire but the reaper Anaya couldn't take his soul. Now he is trapped in a dying body surrounded by shadows and Heaven and Hell both want his soul. He only gets peace when Anaya is near him but he doesn't fully trust her. He has to decide which side he wants to play for when he dies and his decision can change many things. He is now a shadow walker and is a special being everyone wants. Anaya is the first girl besides his best friend he has felt anything for and he is trying not to let that sway his decision. Anaya has worked hard as a reaper to get the one thing she has always wanted since she died. Cash makes her feels things she hasn't in a long time. She will have to decide what she really wants. The past that has kept her going on these years or a future with Cash. Either way she and Cash have a fight on their hands as they are being pursued by both sides.

Anaya has tried to keep her feelings in check ever since she has become a reaper. She has a job to do in order to be with the ones she loves. She is a very sweet girl for a reaper and does what she has to do. She will fight tooth and nail for those she loves. Cash is moody and a very closed off person. His heart has been broken even if no one knows it. He see things that make him think he is crazy. When faced with the fact he will die and has a choice to make he takes it pretty good. I loved Cash he is so amazingly broken in some ways you can't help fall for him.

I enjoyed this book from page one. While it's not the first reaper book I have read I loved that it has it's own originality. You get to see inside Heaven, Hell and the Inbetween. The author does a great job creating this fantastic world. The characters are easy to get involved in as you read along you feel you are right there beside them. Don't think you have everything figured out as you read this book. I thought I did and got thrown a curve I didn't see coming. It kept e turning the pages just to see what would happen next. I loved the interactions Cash has with everyone. It lets you really get into his head and see his side. This is a great book for anyone who wants a different type YA paranormal.

My Review

Tanner Chance had a horrible childhood with a father who had a horrible childhood. He is now a cop and works to put the bad guys away. Turning into a panther is both a blessing and a curse for him. He helped save Marna an Angel of Death when her wings were ripped from her back. He knows he shouldn't but he is drawn to her. Marna only wants her wings back. Sh doesn't like having all these feelings like humans do. While she is leery of Tanner she has to learn to trust him as he may be the only one who can save her. Marna is framed for murder and Tanner goes against everything he knows to help her. The law isn't the only thing they have to hide from as the true killer seems to be following Marna. They have to be careful what they do and keep their heads only that's hard to do when they have to fight their feelings for each other. 

Tanner is a sexy, smart shifter trying his best not to be like his father. He can be very protective and when he loves he loves with his whole heart. I really liked him and like seeing him overcome his past and try and show Marna how he feels. Marna at first I would say she is blank. Blank as in she really didn't know what feelings were or how to deal with them. The more she is earth bound you get to see different sides of her. She can be tough and strong but sometimes she is brought down by all that happens to her. I didn't like her at first but the more she learned to open up the more I did.

This picks up right where book three in The Fallen series ended. You get to see some of the characters you have grown to love in this book. The action starts right away and doesn't stop all through the book. The pace is great and keeps you entertained. I didn't know who the bad guy was till the end. I had guess halfway into the book only to find out I was wrong. I like that. It made it a great book to read. The steamy scenes between Marna and Tanner are great as it allows you to see them grow to allow people in to their hearts as well as it is hot. I would say read this series in order as to not spoil the other books. It has many different types of paranormal creatures in it something for anyone to enjoy.

My Review

Aaron has always been around the undead. The day he was born is the day they raised up. What was left of his family raised him away from the undead as much as they could. They taught him what it would take to survive, to read and write and all they could. Aaron learns one thing on his own and that is that the undead don't see him. It is like he is one of them. Samantha has never had anyone to she could depend on. Now living  in a high school in Lexington with other survivors she doesn't help anyone for free and tries to stay to her self. After Aaron saves her she sees maybe there is someone she can depend on. She needs him and so do the survivors. The undead isn't the only worry out there as they soon see. Can Aaron save them or will he need saving him self.

I love books about zombies. I can't get enough of them and while most of the time you see the same old thing in them each great book has something that makes it stand out for me. This book is one of the great ones for me. Dead Living's great thing for me is the characters. I felt an immediate attachment to these characters and I wanted to know more and to see what would happen next.  Even before Aaron comes into the story I liked his dad and the survivors from the day it all started. They kick the story off in a way that you connect with them. After Aaron comes along you get to see a boy start turning into a man. He really doesn't have a concept on other people. He just knows the undead because that is what he has known all his life. His ability allows him to be closer to them than anyone else ever has. He knows more about them than anyone. What he doesn't know is how to be around the living. He hasn't really been around them. When he does get around them all he wants to do is help and some of the time he doesn't get what people are really asking of him. I liked Aaron because he seemed like what maybe someone in this situation would actually act like. Samantha is the tough girl who doesn't want to let anyone get close to her. Everyone has always left her behind or tried to use her. It has made her a hard person. Even when she is afraid she still uses her head to try and survive no matter what she has to do.  Aaron changes the way she thinks and while at times she hates that she still slowly begins to open up. These two together are wonderful. I cared about both of them and it only grew as I read. There is lots more people in this book that make it so good to read. Some you care about and some you want to feed to the undead yourself.

Other than the great characters another thing I liked about this story is the small stuff the author added to make it seem like what it would be like if this happened. The young people who are still alive don't really know the things we take for granted now. Television is something they have heard of but never seen. How people show their feelings is another thing in most don't know. They don't get some words we use now like what a crush is or why people would really care about how they look. Most also don't know how to read or write as who has had time to teach them when they are just trying to survive. It's the small things like this that make you realize the author has put some thought to the book and not just written another book about zombies. There is plenty of action know worries there. After all the undead are walking among people and you know there is the bad people who survive and care only for themselves. This is a book about survival and about how one boy's strange ability makes him the person that people need to survive even when they don't understand it. Zombie fans be sure to grab this book and read it. Not a zombie fan? That is fine as well because you still want to read this book it is truly more than another book about the undead.

AUTHOR BIO

I live in Maryland with my wonderful wife and four cats. I love gaming, computer technology, movies, and of course, reading and writing. I love science fiction and especially horror and the paranormal. Ghosts, vampires, werewolves, zombies, anything supernatural, all beautiful subjects. 

I’ve been writing since I was twelve years old. There’s just something about creating a story that I like. I always try come up with something that hasn’t been done, or is unique in some way. It could be someone with demonic powers, or something much more simple, such as a person that zombies ignore. It’s fun to create a character, give him or her a personality and background, and watch them evolve through a story.

I’ve tried other subjects, but always drift back to horror and paranormal. There’s a reason why we keep going back to horror movies and books, why they’ve made fifty Friday the 13th movies. People like to be scared, but more than that, I think paranormal and horror stir the imagination like nothing else. We’re all just a little nervous to open that closet door at midnight, or look under the bed.

My Review

Syn hates the Fae and everything about them. She has since she was a child. Now as an adult and one of the most powerful Witches around she is told by the Guild her new assignment is to do what the prince of the Fae ask. What he ask is for her to play a decoy of his fiance till they figure out who is killing Witches and Fae. This is a job Syn does not want to do. She has no problem hunting a killer but being around Fae is another thing. Especially a Fae who set her blood on fire even when he isn't playing mind games. Ryder is used to women doing what he says and used to them falling for his mind tricks. Syn has the power to not fall completely under his spell and he is very intrigued. He also wants Syn very much. Things are starting to get real dangerous and a killer is just half the danger.

Syn trust no one but her coven. Her two friends are all she has. She is very powerful and can do things most itches can't. She isn't afraid to fight anyone and tries her best to keep her sex drive under control. She hates the Fae but Ryder gets under her skin in a way no one else ever has. Ryder is one powerful Fae who has many secrets, most are secrets we haven't even learned yet. He can be a jerk but you can tell he has a soft spot for Syn even when he tries to hide it. This is one Fae I wouldn't mind Fae fff-- well lets just say I wouldn't mind him messing with my mind any time. Even if he has his bad traits I wouldn't kick him out of bed.

I didn't like this book much. I freaking loved it!!! The plot is a great one and has lots of action. As they hunt for a killer you keep trying to guess as who it is and what they are going to do next. Like Syn I was having trouble on knowing who to trust. There was also plenty of twist and turns I did not see coming. Secrets come out but I know there is much more to come. The other part other than the fighting that I loved is the other action between Syn and Ryder. There is so much sexual frustration between these two it frustrates you as well. I will say I even said out loud Come on and do it!! It is definitely worth the read as this is one hot, sexy action packed book. If you love sexy books with amazing characters pick this book up.
