Ravenous - Review & Giveaway

Ravenous (Clare Point #4) by V.K. Forrest
Book Blurb
Welcome to the quiet coastal town of Clare Point, Delaware, where the Kahill vampire clan has made its home for centuries. . .and where one vampire's love for a human woman could put their entire world at risk. . .

Ravenous

As a member of his clan's kill team, Liam McCathal helps rid the world of undesirables. It's the perfect job for a vampire of his talents--except that lately, Liam is getting a little too good at it. Which is why he's back home to "cool off," when Mai walks into his antique store and changes everything.
Liam's not in the habit of making friends--least of all with beautiful, exotic human females. But something about Mai ignites a spark he hasn't felt in over a century. When Mai's uncle is killed and her father threatened, Liam takes on a ruthless crime boss and puts every vampire in Clare Point in danger of discovery. Because Mai's father has secrets too, and Liam is edging ever closer to losing his reputation, his clan, and the woman he would do anything to protect. . .
My Review
Liam is sent home to await his punishment when he becomes a little to much of killer. He is a vampire and on the kill team for his clan but has went to far. As he waits in his antique store for his trial he meets Mai and is intrigued by her. Already in trouble this could just add more to his crimes. Vampires and humans aren't supposed to mix. Mai soon needs his help as her uncle is killed and someone is after her father and her. Even though Liam should stay away he can't seem to want to help her any way he can. As they begin to fall for each other they both may find out secrets that may drive them apart.

Liam seems like the hermit vampire who only wants to kill and be antisocial. He is broody, yet very hot. You know instantly you arwe going to fall for him. Mai is a good character but she needed to be stronger. She is seems to wimpy to be a mach for Liam but somehow when they get together it is good and they seem perfect for each other even if she doesn't know he is a vampire. Sorry to say her dad. his dog Prince and Kaleigh a teen vampire stole the book every time they where in a scene. I loved reading about how her dad acted. You could tell he knew more than what he let on. The tiny dog Prince acted like a pit bull at times. Now Kaleigh is sure to have you laughing your butt off. My favorite scene is when her and Mai's dad watch Twilight together.
This book kept me hooked as something was always going on. I have not read the other books in the series but that didn't effect this one at all. I didn't feel lost one bit. I did love the chemistry between Liam and Mai and they had a few steamy scenes. However all the other characters and the bits you get about them is what made the book. I did like the two main characters but I didn't love them. The town they live in sounds amazing and I will look for more of these books. I think if Mai had been a little different this would have been a 5 for me. It has action, romance, hot vampires, funny scenes and much more. I hope Kaleigh gets her own story as I want more of her.
I received a copy of this book from Kensington for an honest review.

  20. This is a new series for me and I have not read any of them yet. I love it when you can come into a series with a book and not feel lost and can enjoy it by itself. Sounds like Ravenous does that. I do, however, once starting have a compulsion to go back and find the rest LOL Thank you for sharing with us.
