Zombie Kid Diaries Vol. 2 Review

Zombie Kid Diaries Volume 2: Grossery Games
by Fred Petty

Goodreads Blurb
Not willing to let being a zombie spoil his dreams of pro-gamer stardom, Bill Stokes is all fired up to win against a visiting game champ.

But he's got a trio of troubles threatening to ruin his chances: The class has a Thanksgiving trip to Camp Woodchunk that same weekend. He's got to take care of Froufou, the yappy (but yummy-smelling) poodle from next door. And his personal bully, Steve, has a whole new way to humiliate him: a one-man, live-recorded "game show" called Gross-eries!

When Steve gets to run his little game during the whole class trip, Bill gets to be his unwilling star, and it's just about all his zombified nerves can stand!

My  Review
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley for a honest review. This is the second book in the Zombie Kid Diaries. It follows Bill as he adjust to being a zombie in middle school. A kid has been talking smack about how he is the best gamer and Bill just can't take that, so when he finds out the guy is coming to compete in a tournament in his town bill just knows it is his time to show who is really the best. There is one thing standing in his way. A school field trip that is planned for that weekend. He tries his best to get out of the trip even enlisting his zombie clueless mom. She manages to help raise the money so his plan back fires and he is off on the trip. On the trip he had to endure the school bully plus several other unexpected foes.

I liked this one even better than the first one. Bill goes through so much to try and get his way and it usually fails. The cute witty remarks and jokes are still present in this book. You get to read more of what his food consist of and some of the other problems he faces as he tries to hide the fact he is a zombie. His mom even gets a job in this new tale. If you have read the first one and wonder how he became a zombie it is revealed in this book. If you have a middle schooler that is a reluctant reader pick these books up for them it may hook them into reading. I am hooked on this cute series and I am an adult.
